The
Chamber of Commerce is the hub and number one organization that
businesses participate in. It is also the number one resource used by
tourists, people relocating, new businesses, and the community to
acquire information about our area. But not only are you represented
locally. There is also a state and national Chamber looking out
for your interests.
The
Chamber offers networking that is unsurpassed by any other organization.
Our goal is to support local business and to stimulate the economy of
the area through various strategies and marketing
plans.
We are
providers of brochures and information. Our chamber office alone handles
thousands of inquiries and referrals for lodging, restaurants, real
estate, shopping, contractors, professional services, businesses in
general, recreations, and events.
We
answer questions about any and everything. Any questions you can think
of, we've probably had it! We also send out thousands of brochures to
promote our area and our member businesses.
What
are the benefits of being a member of the Chamber?
Referrals: Referrals are
made to member businesses from inquiries received by telephone, mail and
walk-ins. These referrals are the first step to promoting your business.
It's like having your own receptionist.
Trade shows: Volunteers
work these shows to promote our area. Thousands of potential visitors
attend, giving us a direct opportunity to sell our area.
Brochures and publications: Our Chamber
produces and distributes newsletters and other types of publications
that promote our area and its members. We work together with the Plumas
County Visitors Bureau who also produces brochures, publications, and
countywide marketing.
Advertising and Marketing: Coop
advertising and marketing is possible with a strong membership. Members
receive this service free or at a possible discount.
Networking: Chamber mixers
provide an opportunity to share information and ideas with other
businesses. These include successes and failures. Seminars, meetings and
the newsletter are also opportunities to "Network". Try it, you might
enjoy yourself and learn something
beneficial.
Events: Events
stimulate the economy and create a healthy community. We handle hundreds
of inquiries and spend a lot of time answering questions about our
events as well as events put on by other organizations.
Bulk Mail: The use of our
bulk mail permits at a normal fee. We have permits in the Blairsden and
Portola Post Offices. You can save a lot on postage by using this
service.
Investment: Membership
dues are an investment in your business. For and average business, your
investment would be about $7.00 per month, $1.75 a week of .25 cents a
day. It's the best investment you can make for your business and your
buck.
